Delafield Presbyterian Church is a congregation of the Presbyterian Church (USA), 2.4 million members strong throughout the United States. The Presbyterian Church began during the Protestant Reformation of the 1500's. The best known early leader of the Presbyterian movement was John Calvin, who worked and lived in Geneva Switzerland. Early Presbyterians migrated to America primarily from Scotland, Ireland, and Wales and settled throughout the eastern seaboard. With the westward movements of the 1800's, Presbyterians went west to settle the frontier, as did many Americans. Today, Presbyterians come from many cultures and races. On a regional level our congregation is a member of Milwaukee Presbytery (50 Presbyterian Churches in the Milwaukee area) and the Synod of Lakes and Prairies (consisting of Presbyterians in the states of Iowa, Minnesota, South Dakota and Wisconsin).
Our church was first located in downtown Delafield. In 1964, we moved to our current location. In 2000-2001, extensive expansion and remodeling work was begun with the addition of our cross tower and entry way and the remodeling of the fellowship hall.
