Mission Trip to New Orleans
July 12 - 20

In 2006 and 2007,  our church family traveled to Westminster Presbyterian Church in Gulfport, where each time they spent a week helping to rebuild  homes lost in Hurricane Katrina.

In 2006, the group insulated and drywalled an entire home in Gulfport.  They installed, taped, mudded, and sanded the drywall, and then painted the interior , preparing it for the installation of  cabinets, fixtures, and baseboard.

Last year, our mission team primarily helped to re-roof  damaged homes.

Some of our mission members have also worked at an ecumenical receiving and distribution warehouse, unloading two 53’ semi-trailers filled with furniture, beds and bedding, donated from a conference center in Pennsylvania.  They also delivered some of the furniture to residents of Gulfport and Pass Christian, Mississippi.

Our mission team members work hard, laugh a lot, learn muchcry a little, and well represent the compassion of Christ to people still suffering
nearly three years after the storm.

This year's mission team will be heading to New Orleans.  Mission Team members will be staying at the Oive Tree PDA Camp about 30 minutes from downtown and the French Quarter.
They will leave from the church on Saturday, July 12
and return on Sunday, July 20.

An Introductory Meeting will be held following Sunday worship on May 4.

If you are interested in helping us
repair homes damaged in Hurricane Katrina, but can not attend that meeting,
Please speak with Jennifer Franjevic or  Reverend Jensen
following Sunday worship
